“Achielles” a male boxer who resides in the 1200 block of 29th St. was reported missing early Sunday morning, March28. Achielles was reunited with his owner after he followed Police Chief Bonnie Bowers home during her Sunday morning jog.

Tesoro announced late Friday night the death of a fifth employee in connection with the fire and explosion at their March's Point refinery.
Tesoro Senior Vice-President Lynn Westfall said "It is with a sense of the most profound sadness that Tesoro must report the loss of four of our friends and co-workers" killed apparently as a result of a fire and explosion at their March's Point Refinery.
A fourth person died today as a result of this morning's explosion and fire at the Tesoro Refinery at March's Point. The fourth victim had been taken to Harborview Medical Center along with 3 others in critical condition.
An Anacortes High School teacher and two students have been disciplined in connection with vandalism in Brodniak Hall last January. School Superintendent Chris Borgen said "Harsh and appropriate district and legal disciplinary action" was administered to the teacher.
The Anacortes High School robotics team was handed the Rookie All-Star Award during competition in Seattle over the weekend. The 3-day competition at Key Arena in Seattle was a success for the AHS team, which placed 19th overall out of 64 teams.
