Someone stole mail from about 20 Anacortes post office boxes over last weekend. Police don’t know how much mail was stolen and there are no suspects. 

Police Capt. John Small says post office workers discovered the problem last Monday morning. He said someone used a tool to bend and force open the mailbox doors to the mailboxes. The center glass had been broken in two of the doors.

Since the area of the post office where the mailboxes are located is open all the time, anyone could come in any time. If the thieves are found, they could face felony theft and forgery or identity theft depending on what they do with the mail.
