The Friends of Skagit Beaches will show four feature-length environmental films in the coming weeks in their Films with Friends series. Preceding the series is a fundraiser featuring two Seattle-based documentary filmmakers with behind-the-scenes stories.
You'll get a chance to meet the Filmmakers and hear stories from behind the camera with Seattle's award-winning, environmental journalists Michael Werner and Katie Campbell. They'll share their experiences, video clips and wild happenings that can occur when making a documentary film. You'll also meet three young, local filmmakers making short films for Friends of Skagit Beaches' Trail Tales project.
Katie Campbell– multi-media journalist for EarthFix environmental news programing at Seattle's KCTS 9 public television. Her experience runs the gamut from teaching journalism to newspaper writer and editor, photojournalist, and documentary filmmaker.
Michael Werner - independent filmmaker, whose work has been featured on PBS, KCTS 9 Quest, HBO Films, Associated Press, and at the Cannes Int'l Film Festival. An Emmy award winning filmmaker, Michael has a unique gift for finding and capturing revealing human moments.
