The next snow is expected late Tuesday night, meantime, enjoy the break in the weather. But, despite the break, driving will continue to be hazardous. 

A house about a half-mile south of Campbell Lake was destroyed by fire last weekend. Mount Erie Fire Department firefighters reported the house was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived shortly after midnight Sunday morning. 

It tough going, whether driving or walking in downtown Anacortes. With at least one foot of snow on the ground, many Anacortes residents must feel snowed-in. More snow fell Sunday night, but the Monday forecast is looking a bit better.

The manager of a business in the 300 block of 34th Street reported that someone had stolen two fuel cards out of trucks owned by businesses that had vehicles that were parked overnight on the property.

The director of the Chamber of Commerce says the International ferry run is “key to the continued vitality of the Anacortes economy” and the chamber will work to keep it operating, even though the Governor has decided to take it out of the state budget.

As people down Sound hunker down for a major winter storm, the forecasters say we should have it a bit easier here in Anacortes.
