Governor Christine Gregoire made a last-minute campaign stop in Anacortes on the day before Election Day. She and Senator Patty Murray and Congressman Rick Larsen spoke to about 150 Democrats and union workers at the Croatian Cultural Center.

The Anacortes Chamber of Commerce is launching a new “buy local” campaign this holiday season. The new campaign, called “Buy Close By,” is an effort to show the benefit of shopping locally.

An Anacortes woman reported being assaulted by her 34-year-old husband at their home in the 1100 block of 28th Street last week.  The woman reported that her husband was upset because she wasn’t earning any money. 

Governor Christine Gregoire is set to make a campaign appearance in Anacortes on Monday, the day before Election Day. She will be meeting with local labor leaders and Democrats. 

We caught up with some kids trick-or-treating at The Business in downtown Anacortes on Halloween afternoon. Downtown was busy with kids trick-or-treating all afternoon, despite the rainy weather. 

Charlie’s, a West End staple since the ‘60’s, is closing tonight. Chalie's is the last restaurant open at that end of Fidalgo Island.
