Five people have been arrested and drugs seized at a Skyline home following an investigation by the Skagit County drug task force. Undercover detectives purchased drugs from them on several occasions, according to task force chief Will Reichardt.

The City Council began it's review of new updates to the Shoreline Master Program this week and only a half-dozen people spoke at the public hearing. 

Officials have ended the ground search for missing Anacortes resident Keith Anderson, whose truck was found in the southeast corner of Skagit County about 10 days ago, according to Anacortes Police Chief Bonnie Bowers.

The Anacortes-San Juan Island Red Cross chapter has merged with the Whidbey Island chapter and the new name is The Islands Chapter. Brian Geer, who has been in charge of the Anacortes chapter will be head of the combined unit.

Anacortes Police helped a Corrections Officer arrest an escaped felon this week; several cars were hit by a pickup truck in a parking lot and a woman walked away from a grocery store with $75 in groceries without paying.
