
Anacortes Police investigated the death of a man whose body was found at a bus stop in town and a road rage incident, among several other calls.

The reporting party in this case advised that a road rage incident had occurred and the other party was now following him. Officers contacted the reporting party who claimed that the other party had tried to ram them off the road. After speaking to APD officers and being counseled on how to better handle similar circumstances in the future, both drivers agreed to go on their way.

Dispatch advised of a suspicious complaint in the 2400 block of Highland Drive. The reporting party advised that he thought someone was trying to get into his door. The reporting party said he checked around his property and did not find anybody there. The responding officer contacted the man, who said he had been awakened by a loud bang at about 4 a.m. He said he believed it was due to heavy winds but then found a screwdriver outside his rear door along with scrape marks on his door frame. The officer documented the damage and took photos, noting significant pry marks and scrapes on the door frame and the door itself near the deadbolt. The officer provided the corresponding case number for the reporting party’s record and logged the found screwdriver into evidence.

Dispatch advised of a violation of a court order in the 1200 block of 5th Street. The reporting party showed the responding officer video of a man with whom she had a court order walking past her house, which he was not permitted to do. The video appeared to show the man flexing his arm at the elbow with his middle finger extended while the rest of his fingers remain flaccid. The officer cited the man for violating the court order.

The reporting party advised that a man was lying down with his pants partway down and his head covered up. Officers contacted the man, who claimed he had fallen and twisted his ankle. He then declined aid or assistance and left the area.
Wednesday, December 10, 2025
Officers were dispatched to a report of an unresponsive man at the Skagit County transit bus stop near the intersection of 13th Street and Q Avenue. The reporting party stated that the subject was not moving, unresponsive and was face down. The Anacortes Fire Department also responded and confirmed that rigor mortis had set in and that the man was deceased. Police cordoned off the scene with yellow police caution tape and a canopy over the location of the body. APD detectives conducted an investigation and are awaiting autopsy results.

An officer was dispatched to a threatening complaint in the 1300 block of 27th Street. The reporting party advised that a man had pulled a knife on her stepmom and then had left. She later clarified that it was just a verbal argument and no knife had been pulled. The man called shortly after the initial call to report the incident. Officers responded to the residence and contacted the involved parties. They learned that no firearms had been threatened nor specific threats made, and probable cause for arrest could not be established. Officers provided domestic-violence resources to all parties and advised them to get a court order.
