Police Blotter, June 7 - 13, 2013

A 34-year-old Anacortes man reported that he had been punched in the mouth by a woman “for no reason” at a bar in the 200 block of T Avenue in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 7. The man was uncooperative with police in answering questions, but witnesses reported that the man had been inside of the bar asking patrons where he could buy cocaine.  The witnesses further said that the 34-year-old woman had told the man he should not be asking people to buy drugs and that he responded by calling her “fat ass” and to “mind her own business.”  The woman then reportedly told the man twice to not call her fat and that he should shut his mouth or she would “beat his ass.”  The man then called the woman fat again and she punched him in the mouth causing a small cut to his lip.  The man insisted that paramedics transport him to the emergency room for treatment.  The woman was located a short time later and admitted to arguing with the man, but she denied having punched him.  The man was adamant that he wanted the woman charged with assault and she was issued a court summons for assault in the 4th degree.  However, the man also received a criminal citation for provoking an assault.
