The Police Blotter, Nov. 6, 2010

The woman was uninjured but the deer remained on the doorstep of her home, challenging anyone who came near.  Attempts to frighten the deer away were unsuccessful and residents of the neighborhood expressed concern for their children.  The deer remained in the neighborhood and continued to be aggressive towards any residents outside of their homes.  State Wildlife officers were contacted and said the deer needed to be put down.  The deer finally moved enough for the officer to make a safe shot.  Wildlife agents later arrived to remove and inspect the carcass after the Monday, Nov. 1 incident.
