An airplane that showed up on Orcas Island had officials over there scratching their heads until they learned it had been stolen from Anacortes. According to a police report, the plane was stolen from hanger at Anacortes Airport and was discovered on an airport runway on Orcas Thursday morning.

The stolen airplane, like the one in this photo, was a Cirrus SR-22 and valued at $650,000. The plan is registered to Alyeska Aviation, LLC, of Anacortes.

According to a San Juan County sheriff's deputy, the Homegrown Market on Orcas was also discovered broken into when the store's owner showed up Thursday morning. Cash was missing and a dessert tray of stuffed croissants was cleared out. The security system monitor was left under running water in a sink.

This sounds like the work of the state's infamous teenage bandit, Colton Harris-Moore, who's wanted in connection with the theft of several aircraft.

The Cirrus SR22 is the best selling single engine airplane in the world. It's one of the most advanced technological aircraft currently available in general aviation. The airplane features an all composite airframe, state of the art glass panel, and a revolutionary airframe parachute system.
