No new COVID-19 related deaths have been reported since last week. At this time, Skagit County remains at a “Moderate” disease transmission level
Cases and hospitalizations are once again on the rise both locally and in parts of our state, although this increase is not nearly as dramatic as what we experienced at the onset of Omicron. To put the data into perspective, at the height of the Omicron surge, we were seeing an average of 260 new cases reported weekly. At our low point in mid-March, we were seeing an average of 7.6 new cases per week. As of this week, 8.1 new cases have been reported.
Getting vaccinated (whether it’s your prime, booster, or 2nd booster) is the best way to prevent further increases in our community. And as always, stay home when you’re not feeling well and get tested if you suspect you’ve been exposed.
