Temperatures are expected to remain around or below freezing through the rest of the week, with the potential to drop more snow in the region forecasted to arrive on Thursday. With the inclement weather, black ice is a concern for our streets, therefore the city shifted staff to snowplow efforts as well.
The city's statement said, "Safety is our number one priority and it must be safe for the collection trucks to complete their regular routes without endangering life or property; please be aware that conditions outside your own neighborhood may prevent the safe collection and transport of your materials, and that it must be safe for the drivers to complete the service in its entirety."
Cancelled collections will be made up on your next regular collection day, the week of January 3, 2022 or when it is safe to resume collection.
"We understand that during the holiday season more trash has accumulated, and residents may need to put out extra trash on top of their regular collection amount," the city said.
Please have all extra trash in tied garbage bags, City prepaid bags are not required.
Please know we are committed to providing you solid waste service and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause your household. Our priority remains the safety of our residents, staff, and property.
