Lytton & Morris endorsed by newspaper

The Herald's editorial called Lytton, a Democrat,  "better prepared to defend education's needs in the upcoming state budget battles." It went on to say that Lytton "has shown herself to be a thoughtful problem-solver" for the our school district.

Lytton has fared fairly well in collecting contributions to her campaign, having received over $51,000 in cash contributions so far, according to figures from the state Public Disclosure Commission. Independent organizations have spend $28,811 in her support. Her opponent, Republican Mike Newman has collected about $30,000 in cash and spent just over $12,000.

For Position 2, the Herald said that incumbent Representative Jeff Morris "has become a key leader in the Democratic caucus." And, the paper said that Morris "tends to be more centrist in his politics than many of his caucus colleagues."

Morris has raised $94,000 in this year's campaign and spent $97,000, according to PDC records. while Republican opponent John Swapp has raised $28,000 and spent about half that.
