The head of the Save Our Ferry Committee, Duane Clark, says he’s making plans for the resumption of the Anacortes-to-Sidney, BC ferry run at the end of this month, saying “Clearly this event takes on new meaning this year.”
State Transportation Department will be doing some blasting along Highway 20 south of Sharpe's Corner and north of Campbell Lake Road starting later this month. The blasting will cause closures 5 nights a week.
Anacortes residents woke up this morning to a light layer of snow on the ground. The weather service says we should expect to see snow showers for much of the morning.

Last weekend, an employee of a downtown restaurant found five baggies with trace amounts of white powder in them in a parking lot behind the business.
Snow is possible in western Skagit County, including Fidalgo Island, Saturday afternoon into Sunday, according the the National Weather Service.
