When environmental cleanup projects around Fidalgo Island are completed in about two years, the total cost will end up around $50-million, with the state paying about one-half the cost and landowners paying the rest.

Five vehicle collisions were reported on Monday, March 9th, between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm on highway 20 between Thompson Rd. and Fidalgo Rd. Officers said that the sudden heavy snow fall in the area made visibility poor and the roads slick. No one was injured in any of the collisions.

Small boat hoist approved

Port Commissioners have okayed construction of a  $530,000 small boat hoist in Cap Sante Marina. The hoist, to be located on P/Q docks, should be ready for use by tne end of the summer.
