Opening Day for the Anacortes Farmers Market is Saturday, bringing sunshine, good friends, fresh produce, specialty foods and shiny, happy handcrafts to the area next to the Depot Arts Center.

A 14-year-old girl who had taken the wrong bus and was walking back home in the area of Oakes Avenue and Sunset reported Wednesday, May 5, that she was approached by a suspicious man in a car who repeatedly asked her to get into his car.
