Work on the city's off-leash dog park on H Avenue is progressing slowly. During the holidays, a new pavilion was added to the park, which officially opened last summer.
Demolition work on the fire-damaged section of the Tommy Thompson Trail trestle is expected to start shortly after the start of the new year. In-water work must be done by Feb. 1 because of environmental regulations.

Assessed property values in Anacortes have dropped, on average, 7.6 percent from one year ago, according to the county Assessor's Office, the first drop since the early 1990s.
Police investigated several thefts at Anacortes marinas this week. Stolen were part of a navigational radar unit aboard one boat, a flat-screen TV on another boat. And, a Boston Whaler disappeared from a dock.
