Grassroots search launched for Keith Anderson

Geer told the volunteers to place flyers in high-traffic areas between Anacortes and Arlington. He said to watch for Anderson's truck and to call 911 if they spot it. Geer said family members and friends have been searching the last couple of days.

Anderson, a retired Anacortes High School counselor, left Anacortes on January 6 to meet an acquaintance in the Arlington area driving a white 1999 Ford Ranger pickup, Wash. license plate B0811F. The truck is described as a standard cab pickup with a matching white canopy.

Saturday ended with no sign of Anderson or his truck. But, dozens of missing person posters were placed throughout the I-5 corridor between Anacortes and Seattle.

There's been an outpouring of comments on Anacortes Now by former students and friends of Anderson, most begging him to return home and describing how has impacted their lives. When Anderson left Anacortes, he was without his cell phone, extra clothes and medications.

As many as 200 people turned out for a candlelight vigil at Causland Park last Wednesday.
