Anacortes Police are looking for someone who has been killing deer in the city recently. Three deer have been found killed in the past three months.

The chief of police says she’s “disgusted” that someone  has killed three deer in Anacortes recently.

About a week ago, someone discovered the body of a deer shot with an arrow and with its antlers sawed off. The deer was found in the 1600 block of Georgia Place. Last month, a deer was killed, also by an arrow, in the 2700 block of 17th St. And, In Sept. another deer was found, this one shot by a gun in the 2700 block of 18th St.

Police Chief Bonnie Bowers told a reporter “I’m disgusted,” adding “We’ll charge them with everything we can.” She says whoever has been killing the deer could face numerous charges, including hunting out of season and hunting in the city limits.

Bowers says the police department is working with the state Fish and Wildlife Department in their investigation. She says that anyone with information should call the police department at 293-4684 or the police tip line at 299-1985.
