Police Beat

Danielle Trevino

A new police officer is on the job now after being sworn in by Mayor Laurie Gere and Police Chief Bonnie Bowers at this week’s City Council meeting.

Bowers said of Danielle Trevino, “Few candidates measure up to the high standards and commitment to public safety that the Anacortes Police Department asks of its officers. Officer Trevino is one of the few who met our mark. In actuality, we met her high mark as I am aware that she did informational interviews and research on several other department before deciding that Anacortes was where she wanted to be.”

Trevino is a graduate of the University of Washington and had a career at MetLife before deciding to follow her dream of being a police officer. She’s also a competitive swimmer and has climbed Mount Ranier.
