Anacortes Police arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a stabbing incident in downtown Anacortes.

The victim, 55 year-old businessman Ian Shipley was on scene when officers arrived. He was transported to Island Hospital where he was treated for a single stab wound. He is expected to make a full recovery.

The incident apparently happened as he was trying to usher an unruly guest out of a party across the street from his Sixth St. business.

Anacortes Police Officers responded to the area of 6th Street and O Avenue in Anacortes per the report of a stabbing that had occurred approximately 20 minutes prior.

The suspect, a 21 year-old Anacortes man, was arrested by Anacortes Officers the next day and has been taken into custody and booked at the Skagit County Jail on an investigative hold.
