In the early morning hours of January 3rd a suspect climbed into the security-fenced area of the Anacortes Police Department parking lot and punctured the tires on nine separate vehicles.
All of the on-duty officers were away from the office handling calls during the time period that the vehicles were damaged by the suspect, who had to climb over a locked, barb-wired topped fence in order to get in to the parking area.
Evidence was left at the scene and the investigation in to this incident is ongoing. It is believed that this incident in one of a series of criminal acts that have targeted the Police Department’s vehicles since last September.
