The Washington State Patrol said that Janesah Goheen, 17, of Oak Harbor, passed away at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Her twin sister, Janeah Goheen, had been pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Their friend, Alysha Pickler, 18, was injured in the collision.
The driver of the other vehicle, Ira Blackstock of Oak Harbor, was arrested and charged last week with vehicular homicide and two counts of vehicular assault for the accident. With the death of the second girl, the charges could be changed
The State Patrol said that Blackstock was driving south on Highway 20 at around 5pm and “accelerated rapidly” as he approached the Gibralter Rd. intersection at the top of the hill from Sharpes Corner. His car, with near-bald tires according to the State Patrol, slid on wet pavement and crossed into the northbound lane, hitting the car driven by Janesah Goheen.
