Two stores in Anacortes have reported receiving fake $100 bills in the past week and now more bills have been passed in the Burlington area. Store employees are encouraged to carefully check any $100 bills that they receive.
The APD said f you see this subject Anacortes Police would like to speak with him. Do not confront him, please call 911 and report his whereabouts.
The suspect(s) are sometimes altering other bills to make them appear as hundreds. Make sure to inspect $100 bills for the visible security thread that is in the bill, which can be seen when it is held up to a bright light. The thread actually reads 100 USA 100 USA 100 USA along its length.
If you suspect that a bill is fraudulent call 911 and do not accept it.
