Arrests draw attention

Just before 1 PM Sunday Officers recieved information that a man with felony warrants had been seen near a home in the 4000 block of A Ave in Anacortes. As officers arrived in the area the man fled in to a home where he had been staying with his girlfriend. Investigation revealed that she also had a felony warrant out for her arrest.

A request went out to neighboring agencies for additional officers so that the house could be kept under observation. Patrol Officers from the Sheriff's Office, the Washington State Patrol, and the Swinomish Tribal Police came in to Anacortes and set up a safe perimeter around the home.

Anacortes Police tried calling the home and making loudspeaker announcements, but there was no response. APD Sgt. D. Floyd led an entry team of Anacortes Officers in to the residence and both suspects were found hiding in a crawl space under the home.

They were both taken in to custody and booked in to the Skagit County Jail. No suspects or officers were injured.
