The mystery of the movie banner

When a police officer caught up with the two men, they dropped it and ran. But the officer was able to catch one of them, an 18-year-old Anacortes man. He told the police officer that his friend bought the 11-foot-by-7-foot banner on Shipwreck Day. The officer suspected the was drunk and a breath test confirmed it. He was arrested for under age drinking.

But, the banner still needed to be dealt with. The police officer located the second man who had been carrying it. He had a different story. In fact, he had a several different stories. At first he said he didn't know anything about the banner. Then he said he bought it on Shipwreck Day. He changed his story and told the officer he bought it at the Arts Festival. His final version was that he bought it from the movie theater.

The police are holding on to the banner while they try to determine who really owns it and whether it was purchased or stolen.
