Two arrested in Red Cross vandalism

The Police Department says the two admitted vandalizing the Red Cross vehicles. A window of one vehicle was broken in and the windshields of two other trucks were sprayed with a fire extinguisher.

Local Red Cross official Brian Geer said he expected it would cost about $1,000 to clean up the vehicles and replace the smashed window. He said the vandalism left the local Red Cross with no response vehicles for a short time.

The trucks had been parked in front of the local chapter on T Ave. when the damage was done. Police chief Bonnie Bowers said a tip led the police to the two men and that alcohol was involved. They were apparently drunk.
