Broken traffic light working again

A crew from the state Department of Transportation, which maintains the city-owned signal through a contract with the city, fixed the light this week. Southbound traffic on Q was shut down for several hours on Tuesday to allow for the crews to work.

A high-power power line owned by Puget Sound Energy his the signal's arm during the first snow storm in December and knocked it out of commission. Blinking red both directions was the only option that was left working aftetr the light was knocked out.
