The last couple of days may not have been sunny and warm, but it provided a break in the snow. Now, the break’s over. The snow is turning to rain and the icy roads will become slushy.

The Anacortes weather forecast for Christmas Eve calls for temperatures slightly above freezing with snow or rain showers off and on. The temperature is forecast to drop to 32 or so tonight.

The official weather service forecast for Anacortes for Christmas Day calls for rain and snow showers. Cloudy, with a high near 36. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

It should warm up a bit Friday and this weekend with rain in the forecast.
