The boys of the AHS team earned a home playoff game, however the field doesn't have enough seating to host a playoff game. So, the school asked the community to fund rental bleachers. The support was enormous! In less than a day the AHS Football GoFundMe exceeded it's $5,000!"
The high school will fund half of the $10K needed to rent the bleachers.
The community, family, friends and even people from outside of the area have stepped up in a huge way and we hit our fundraising goal in record time," Heather Monkman Moore said. "We will be hosting our playoff game for the first time in school history, on campus, in Seahawks Stadium!! On behalf of the AHS Seahawks, thank you again and go Hawks!!!"
This Friday, Nov. 11, for the first time ever AHS fans will be heading to their home turf to watch their Seahawks participate in a playoff game. AHS will face off against West Valley of Spokane, and it's all thanks to the generosity of their community.
Any extra funds will be donated towards another playoff game (when needed) or towards the ultimate goal of having a permanent bleacher structure built on the west side of Rice Field. The cost for this exceeds $250K so we acknowledge this is more of a longtime goal.
