The Anacortes Police Department conducted a sweep of the building, and has determined that it is safe for students to return to class.
In a statement, the school district said, "Student and staff safety is our top priority; we will always take precautions in these situations to ensure everyone’s safety."
In response to this week’s threats received at Anacortes High School, the Anacortes Police Department has been working with their federal partners and have determined that this week’s threats are affecting multiple communities across the United States.
The community of Anacortes does not appear to be a specific target. APD is continuing to work with their partners to identify those responsible. There is no indication that the threat originated from on campus.
The district said that due to the active, ongoing investigation, the district is limited in the amount of information they can provide.
"The Anacortes Police Department is doing an excellent job supporting our team. We appreciate their partnership in helping us solve this situation," the district added.
