According to an announcement, this is nightly work from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am starting on Sunday August 14th and ending on Wednesday August 17th, 2022. The crew will shift the westbound lane traffic to the center turn lane, traffic impact should be minimal.
Commercial Avenue, from the roundabout just south of 35th Street all the way to 12th Street, is part of State Highway 20 and is maintained by WSDOT. "This maintenance is most welcome," according to a statementy from the city of Anacortes..
The City continues to advocate to WSDOT, as well as our State and federal elected representatives for a full and needed overlay of this State Highway that is also our “main street" into town.

This emergency project was authorized and funded under an Executive Order from Gov. Inslee, issued January 8, 2022. With the emergency measure in place, this project was bundled into 88 locations across King, Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom counties and was awarded to Lakeside Construction in June 2022.
