ASD and APD respond to violent threat

The threat was left on social media this weekend. Students who saw the post reported it to an administrator this morning.

The School District administrators and police officers have identified the student who made the threat. The student’s parents are cooperating.

"Student safety is our top priority; the student will not return to school until we can confirm that students are safe," stated a news release from the school district.

The release went on, "We are grateful for students and the community who immediately report threats to school administrators. We are also thankful for our solid partnership with the Anacortes Police Department."
