County government, including the Skagit County Auditor, say they are not involved with this GOP project. Skagit County Elections staff will never come to your home.
Skagit County has received multiple reports from community members that individuals have been going door to door throughout the community asking for personal information related to voting eligibility. Most of these individuals are believed to be affiliated with an ongoing Skagit Voter Integrity Project, which appears to be a project of the Skagit County Republican Party.
“We, of course, respect the right of this group to attempt to collect information for whatever purpose they feel is necessary, but the confusion has become such in recent days that-- after speaking with the involved group-- we need to clarify this issue with the community,” said Skagit County Auditor, Sandy Perkins. “This is not an official government survey, and community members should not feel compelled to answer questions unless they want to.”
