Skagit County Senior Centers to Reopen next Tuesday

All five of the County’s Senior Center will reopen at full capacity on Tuesday, July 6:

Congregate Lunch Program services will resume on July 6, though some group activities and programming will still be limited at this time. Social distancing will be encouraged by all staff, volunteers, and visitors. Senior Centers are required to follow all state Senior Center guidance, including routine cleaning and sanitation.

Staff and volunteers will be required to mask when interreacting with the public. Visitors who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are not required to wear a mask. Fully vaccinated is defined as someone who has completed their vaccine series and are at least two weeks out from their final dose. Those who are not fully vaccinated will be required to mask at all times when in the centers. All centers will operate on the honor system for visitors’ vaccination status.

“We cannot wait to have our seniors back!” said Jennifer Johnson, Skagit County Public Health Director. “This has been an especially difficult time for many of them, so we are very pleased to be able to welcome them back into our doors.”
