School District plans reopening on May 6

The Anacortes School District says it is finalizing details (such as hiring additional staff, etc.) to expand in-person learning, working toward Thursday, May 6. They are working closely with the Skagit County Health Department and know that cases are on the rise, which means that increasing in-person learning will be pending their approval.

Pending approval, students will attend in-person school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Wednesdays will continue to be a remote learning day. The district says it will communicate specific start and ends times as soon as we can finalize our plans.

School district staff has been working diligently every day to plan for this next step in the 6-phase approach to reopening, including working through logistics like bus schedules, lunch schedules and locations, and staffing. The school district is still hiring key positions (bus drivers, paras, subs, and custodians). Applications are available at: https://anacortesjobs.hrmplus.net/JobOpenings.aspx
