We are continuing to see an increasing rate of cases in Skagit County.

by Skagit Public Health

New cases: Skagit County reported seven new cases today. That means 471 total cases, 389 recoveries, 54 hospitalizations and 15 deaths. As a reminder, you can see additional historic data, as well as the WA Department of Health dashboard at www.skagitcounty.net/coronavirus

Continuing to practice good social distancing and hand hygiene is so important. Please, as long as you're medically able, wear a mask whenever you’re in public. We’re all in this together and we all want to move forward, not backwards through the Safe Start plan.

Related, a reminder for Father’s Day: it is not safe to gather in large numbers. Phase 2 only allows for gatherings of five or fewer people who are not your immediate household members once per week. With Father’s day coming up this weekend- there is temptation to see family and friends but please keep your gatherings small and socially distant. If you do see anyone, please wear a mask at all times and maintain six feet of distance as much as possible.

School is (almost) out for the summer, but that doesn’t mean that your students need to go hungry. To find a summer meal site near you, visit https://www.nokidhungry.org/find-free-meals or text “food” or “comida” to 877-877. You can also contact the Child Nutrition Service Department at the Office of the Superintendent for Public Instruction at 360-725-6200 for further information.
