Veterans Memorial Plaza

The Veterans Memorial Plaza at the high school will be open on Veterans day, to show appreciation to all the brave men and women who have served, and continue to serve, our country.

The plaza will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 11 and on Monday, November 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  No events are planned; rather we invite the community in for reflection and tribute. The plaza is comprised of a memorial designed by local architect Brooks Middleton, with input from the Veterans Memorial Committee, as well as a display honoring two Medal of Honor recipients with local connections. The Anacortes School District is closed on Monday, November 12 in observance of Veterans Day.
