The city has awarded the contract to Larry Brown Construction, Inc. for the upgrade five of ADA curb ramps and the replacement of a portion of downtown sidewalks in about 45 locations to eliminate sidewalk trip hazards, with an emphasis on those caused by street tree roots.

The project is located in downtown Anacortes, the area generally bounded by 2nd Street, 12th Street, N Avenue, and R Avenue.

Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, March 19. The contractor will have 60 Working Days to complete the project. Portions of sidewalks and in some cases the adjacent parking lane will be CLOSED during the construction hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Businesses with frontage to sidewalk repairs will remain open.

The City acknowledges the inconvenience and requests your cooperation while we make these needed improvements to our sidewalk system.
