2015 0809 wallie funk

A celebration of Wallie Funk’s life, followed by a reception, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 at the First Baptist Church, 2717 J Ave., Anacortes.

A wonderful tribute written to Wallie written by his family can be viewed at http://www.evanschapel.com/obituary/4338625

A man of extraordinary energy and enthusiasm, Wallie had a lasting impact on Anacortes and leaves behind his devoted family and countless dear friends. He was a tireless cheerleader for his home towns of Anacortes and Oak Harbor.

Among his many accomplishments, he was a key founder of the Anacortes Museum. The Wallie Funk Collection – about 10,000 images that he collected, rescued, or took himself – forms the heart of the museum’s holdings.
