City to replace manholes

 The city will be replacing a number of manholes over the coming 45 days.

The City of Anacortes Public Works Department is moving forward with the 2017 City’s Sanitary Sewer Inflow and Infiltration Reduction program. Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, March 13. 

The contractor will have 45 working days to complete the project. Construction will typically be from 7 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday, although construction may be allowed during weekends and in the evening hours if necessary. During construction, there will be traffic detours and road closures to allow for the work.

The City has contracted with Trico Companies, LLC. to replace Sewer Manholes on “M” Avenue from 4th Street to 22nd Streets and on “K Avenue between 18th Street and 19th Street.

Eighteen manholes will be replaced during this project. The contractor will start the project just north of the 22nd Street and “M” Avenue intersection and be installing new manholes towards 4th Street.
