Crews will reassess the area on Monday and if it is safe, will begin the multi-day process of removing this slide that is approximately 40 feet deep and 150 feet long.
The highway is also closed between milepost 134 and 171, a normal winter closure, due to avalanche risk. There are people stuck between this slide and the winter closure gate. They are all safe and have food and housing available.
