The city is set to begin three weeks of street slurry seal work, as well as necessary street closures on Tuesday, June 28.

The city’s Skyline Slurry Seal Project provides for the preparation and installation of Slurry Seal Type II to existing asphalt streets, pavement marking removal and replacement, street surface preparation, herbicide application, vegetation trimming, minor structural patching, street sweeping and other necessary work, all in accordance with approved plans, provisions and specifications.

The benefit to the public is preservation of the street surface for an additional eight to 10 years of wear without maintenance. Slurry Seal is the least expensive and most effective method to achieve this goal within the realm of pavement surfacing.
