The city plans to replace six sewer manholes on or near Commercial Ave. in the downtown area.

As part of the 2016 sanitary sewer inflow and infiltration reduction program, the City of Anacortes Public Works Department is moving forward with the 2016 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project. 

The project will consist of replacing six sanitary sewer manholes in the intersections of 4th to 9th Street of Commercial Avenue as well as installing a new sanitary sewer manhole at each half block East and West of Commercial Avenue from 3rd to 9th Street. 

Construction is expected to begin mid-February and be completed by the end of April.

During construction there will be traffic detours and intermittent road closures to allow for the work. Thank you in advance for your patience during construction.  

The project is costing $286,466
