The City Council has okayed a permit to allow upgrades and expansion of Skyline Marina.

The Council on Monday approved a shoreline substantial development permit (SSDP) to permit the replacement and expansion to existing docks and floats that would increase moorage from 50 boat slips to 55 slips.

Renovation will also include: disassembly of existing “T” dock & 2 travel lift piers; removal of over 150 existing creosote pilings; installation of 43 new galvanized steel pilings; installation of prefabricated hoist deck pads for travel lift pier; installation of new prefabricated floating “T” dock main pier, A, B, & C fingers of T dock; and installation of suppression, electrical, and potable water facilities.

Construction and deconstruction activities are expected to last approximately 6-8 weeks.

The property is zoned Commercial Marine and is also located in the Urban and Aquatic Shoreline Environments.

The city had earlier approved plans to allow a new development on Skyline Way which include offices, a restaurant and a residence to be build in three phases on the site of the former Flounder Bay Cafe.
