In a terse announcement, the city announced simply that it is looking for a resident that is interested to fill the remainder of a term on the Planning Commission that will expire December 31, 2017.
The city announcement did not give a reason for the resignation nor give Rhoades' name. The release was geared toward finding a replacement.
Rhoades, one of three owners of Anacortes Brewing Company, recently submitted his resignation from the Commission.
The city’s press release said that applicants should have a desire to serve the community; time to devote to commission responsibilities; and a background and interest in planning, community, and economic development.
The Commission meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 7 pm in the Anacortes City Council Chambers.
To apply, submit a Talent Bank Application (available on the city website or at city hall) by August 14, 2015 to: Don Measamer PO Box 547 904 6th Street Anacortes WA 98221 Email:
