2015 0616 trail tales

State Representative Kris Lytton and Mayor Laurie Gere (with her back to us) cut the ribbon launching the second page of Trail Tales interpretive signs along the Tommy Thompson Trail, around Cap Sante Marina and on the Guemes Channel.

The Saturday event also attracted Port of Anacortes Executive Director Dan Worra and Arianne Fernandez, state Dept. of Ecology Toxics Cleanup Program, which is funding the signs as part of the cleanup of Fidalgo Bay.

This summer, Trail Tales is offering new learning opportunities for the community. In addition to interpretive walks, volunteer docents will be hosting special stations at a variety of Trail Tales Discovery Points. Docents will share special stories and information related to the sign topics at their featured location.
