John previously served 9 years on the Anacortes School Board, held a long time position on the Skagit Regional Transportation Organization and is a 20 year member of Kiwanis. He has served on many committees for both the City and the Port and has proven to be a catalyst in bridging communication between the two entities.
John is a person who can hear the concerns of the community and lead with common sense. His career provided experience in business, marine activities, personnel management, industrial labor issues and project management.
John is a sailor, member of OARS and one of the founding members of The Small Boat Center. His desire to serve as Port Commissioner is an extension of his dedication to serve his community.
