School bond approved by voters

The vote tally, as of 4:30 pm Wednesday, shows 63.47% (5,425 votes) voting yes, with 37.53% (3,259) voting against the bond measure. A vote of 60% is required to approve the bond.

The county auditor’s office reports that only 120 ballots remain to be counted and, if true, that’s not enough to defeat the bond.

The next vote count will be Feb. 24, the day the election is certified.
