2014 1023 school levy

With the ballot count virtually complete as of Wednesday afternoon, it is safe to say that voters have approved the $86.9 million bond measure to upgrade Anacortes High School.

The vote tally, as of 4:30 pm Wednesday, shows 63.47% (5,425 votes) voting yes, with 37.53% (3,259) voting against the bond measure. A vote of 60% is required to approve the bond.

The county auditor’s office reports that only 120 ballots remain to be counted and, if true, that’s not enough to defeat the bond.

The next vote count will be Feb. 24, the day the election is certified.
