In an effort to education the public about the need for an $89 million upgrade of the high school, the school district has scheduled three public tours next month.

The school district’s proposal for an $87.9 million dollar bond issue goes to the voters early in February.

The tours are set for:

  • Monday, Jan. 5 at 6pm
  • Saturday, Jan. 10 at noon
  • Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 6pm

Reservations are not necessary.

The money would be spent on 60 percent construction of new classrooms, a commons area and library, with 40 percent for renovation of the gym, Brodniak Hall and music rooms.

The classrooms would be built on what is now War Memorial Field. Rice Field would be upgraded to accommodate sports which has been taking place on War Memorial Field.
