A contractor for the city will begin work on repaving 34th St, east of R Ave. on Friday. The project has been delayed for several days because the contractor needs 3 days without rain to do the initial stripping of old asphalt.

Construction will typically be from 7 am to 7 pm,. Detours around this project may be in place at times, and there may be flagging and road closures during construction. Upon completion of the new asphalt, road striping will follow.

Here's the tentative schedule"

  • Friday: Grind existing road, hauling in gravel and grading.
  • Saturday: Continue hauling in Gravel, adjust structures and final grading.
  • Sunday: 34th Street will be closed. Local access for residents of 34th Street only.
  • Monday and Tuesday: Paving
